Michael Kelly

Founder of GIY

Michael Kelly is a freelance journalist, author and social entrepreneur.  In 2009 he established a not-for-profit called GIY (Grow it Yourself) to inspire people to grow their own food and give them the skills they need to do so successfully. There are nearly 100 GIY groups and approximately 10,000 GIYers in Ireland, the UK and Australia. Michael is an Ashoka Fellow and a recipient of the inaugural 2010 Arthur Guinness Fund award.  He has written two books on the good life, and is a regular contributor to The Irish Times.
