Gerald Cooper

Beekeeper

Gerald was a university lecturer in Social Science and moved to Wales in 1980. He was then a dairy farmer for ten years before becoming a professional beekeeper. His farm has 500 hives of bees, an exhibition centre, shop and tearoom. His overriding aim in doing these things was to make a living by doing what he enjoyed doing, ‘It doesn’t always work, but it’s better than a career and an office.’
